As per a new report by the democracy watchdog, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), BJP has the most assets among the eight national parties. The report has enumerated the assets for the financial year (FY) 2021-22.

The total assets increased from Rs 7,297.61 crore the previous year (FY 2020-21) to Rs 8,829.15 crore.

The BJP’s assets increased by a little more than Rs 1,000 crore—from Rs 4,990.19 crore to Rs 6,046.81 crore. Percentage-wise it may be negligible, but the party still commands over 68% of the total assets. This means, the other seven parties share only 32 per cent of the total assets.

Though insignificant when compared to the total, the assets of All India Trinamool Congress increased by two-and-a-half times (Rs 182.001 crore to Rs 458.10 crore) in FY 2021-22. For Nationalist Congress Party, the increase was by 2.41 times, from Rs 30.93 crore to Rs 74.54 crore.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was the only national party whose assets decreased, from Rs 732.79 crore to Rs 690.71 crore.
