Steady rise in price of LPG
Belying the slogan ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, there has been a steady rise in the price of LPG cylinders over the last five years of the Narendra Modi government – by as much as 61 per cent.

Belying the slogan ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, there has been a steady rise in the price of LPG cylinders over the last five years of the Narendra Modi government. So much so that this essential item of the common people has gradually become more and more difficult to purchase.
Let us see how the prices of the 14.2 kg cylinder has risen over the last five years. The prices considered for this calculation are the averages of the prices on March 1 in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, as charged by Indian Oil (brand Indane).
March 1, 2018: Rs 690 per cylinder
March 1, 2019: Rs 705 per cylinder, a rise of 2% over 2018
March 1, 2020: Rs 812 per cylinder, a rise of 15% over 2019
March 1, 2021: Rs 830 per cylinder, a rise of 2% over 2020
March 1, 2022: Rs 960 per cylinder, a rise of 16% over 2021
March 1, 2023: Rs 1114 per cylinder, a rise of 16% over 2022
Therefore, in the five years from 2018 to 2023, the price of the non-commercial LPG cylinder has risen by a massive 61 per cent. So much for caring for the people!
