November 16, 2022 | < 1 min read

November 15 was the last day for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises to announce the players they wanted to retain and those they wanted to let go. Those let go will be the ones who will be bid for at the auction for the 2023 season of IPL, along with players who want to make themselves available for the first time. The bidding is scheduled to happen on December 23 in Kochi.

Before the deadline, the trading of players between the teams took place. Trading involves no bidding. It’s just a simple selling and buying. But prior written permission from players is compulsory.

Kolkata Knight Riders acquired Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Lockie Ferguson from Gujarat Titans, and Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals through trading, and sold Aman Khan to the latter.

Shreyas Iyer (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wicket-keeper), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Anukul Roy, Venkatesh Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, CV Varun, Harshit Rana

Players released by KKR:

Pat Cummins, Sam Billings, Aman Khan, Shivam Mavi, Mohammad Nabi, Chamika Karunaratne, Aaron Finch, Alex Hales, Abhijeet Tomar, Ajinkya Rahane, Ashok Sharma, Baba Indrajith, Pratham Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Rasikh Salam, Sheldon Jackson
